Information received from 12 districts about the locations earmarked for Benazir Towns in Major Urban Centers of the Province of Sindh. UPTODATE LIST IS ATTACHED. Reminders from SMBOR and SLMDCL have been sent to remaining districts. Some districts are found unable to respond due to flooding in those districts.

Larkano - On instructions from SMBOR, SLMDC Technical and Estate management team visited the ex-Divisional Headquarters where meetings were held in the office of respective DCOs. EDOs and DOs of Revenue, Works & Services, Public Health Engg, Building & Roads, Education Works, SSGC, Wapda, and Municipal officers attended the respective sessions. All EDOs (Revenue) committed to coordinate and provide a consolidated feedback to SLMDCL by 27th August, 2011. The feedback (required on a predefined questionnaire) shall help in preparing a consolidated PC-1 for the Benazir Towns in various districts of Sindh.

Field Information report – SMBOR on request from SLMDC sent a questionnaire to all Districts to gather information required to prepare a PC-1 for “Benazir Towns in Sindh Province” i.e. ADP Scheme 1598 under the Presidential directives.

SLMDC Estate and Techncial Departments visited the site of Benazir Town at Kemari for site abservations and preliminary surveys. Staff from Revenue Department, Survey of Pakistan also joined with the SLMDC staff. Local Civil Works contractors were also contacted for discussing options for constructing surveying monuments/ benchmarks and site offcies. Existing or possible infrastructure facilities in the surrounding areas were also visited. |
